Changes for Collecting Payment Methods
We want to update you on some important changes that will enhance the way we handle payment information. These changes are scheduled to take effect on Friday, July 12th, 2024.
Why We're Updating
We're excited to announce that we're transitioning to newer workflows that allow for faster settlement times of ACH payments. Additionally, we're introducing a combined workflow for adding both bank accounts and cards. This update is part of our ongoing commitment to providing more efficient and streamlined services to our partners and customers.
What's Changing
The update primarily affects how we enable partners and customers to collect payment information:
-
New Workflows for ACH Payments: Expect improved speed and efficiency in processing ACH payments.
-
Combined Bank Account and Card Input Workflow: A more streamlined process for adding payment information.
-
Transition from Plaid to Stripe's Financial Connections: Patients can continue to log into their bank accounts directly to authorize payments, now using Stripe's secure and user-friendly platform.
-
Discontinuation of Stripe Tokens: We are moving away from Stripe tokens. Going forward, we will exclusively support payment methods.
The new endpoints are live today on both the sandbox and production servers.
Action Required
Depending on your current setup, here are the steps you need to take:
- For Stripe Token Users: If you're currently using Stripe tokens, you'll need to transition to using payment methods. Please follow this guide for detailed instructions: Migrating from Card Sources to Payment Methods.
- For Payment Method Users: If you're already using payment methods, you will need to post the data to a new endpoint. Guidance on this can be found here: Migrating from /cards to /payment_methods.
- For new users or those looking to start collecting payment information, we've prepared a comprehensive guide that can be found here: Collecting Payment Information
